As soon as he had asked about Evan he regretted it. Okay, so maybe he wanted her to tell him that she knew about the two of them, maybe he wanted her to hit him and throw him out, and maybe he wanted her to say she would never speak to him again. Although all that would only be so that he would have a reason not to feel the way that he did about her. I don't know how I'll make it through this. He could almost see her body shaking, she looked so small, like she had up on the roof. She wrapped her arms around herself, and he did the same, holding himself.
"I...um," He shook his head slightly, silently begging her not to answer, then looked down at his crossed arms. He thought hard, wondering why exactly that was the only question that he could come up with. Part of him wanted her to say yes, and that they were getting along fine, and probably back together; And the other part, the main part wanted her to say that she hadn't spoken to him and didn't want to.
Ernie had only seen Evan once since he had left Beauxbattons, before Ern had had to go to London. It was just a quick conversation, and quite a difficult one. Mostly about the weather.
He had made some lame excuse about having to be some where, and made a hasty exit. Okay, so he had explained to Matty what had happened, and he knew that Matty hadn't been totally faithful to him, so he was sure that he would understand, it was only a spur of the moment thing, well, thats what he kept telling himself. Ernie had never really gotten around to talking to Char about it, and as she didn't bring it up, he felt that it was best to leave it alone.
Back at Beauxbatons, when Ernie first met Evan, he had a 'crush' on him, but that was as much as it could be put down to, there were no feelings involved, not really. Just jealousy, mainly of anyone else who he would see with the boy more often than he was.
It was hard to explain, Charlotte was a friend of a friend, a girl that he would see at the odd party, then she moved to his best friends girlfriend, then his girlfriends best friend, then his own best friend. He hadn't seen when their relationship changed from one of just about remembering a name, to being each others everything.
"Not for a few weeks. Why?"
Looking at her, he shook his head again, still not sure in his mind why he had asked her. 'Because i haven't,' he replied. Waiting a moment before he spoke again, 'Not for a while.'
She moved back over to him, resting her head in his lap. His heart began to beat faster than he could control.
"I'm sorry, hon. I just... Don't want to think about Evan."
'I don't ether, not really,' he said, taking a section of her bright pink hair and wrapping it around his fingers. 'What do you want to talk about?' he asked her, dropping her hair back on to his lap.
